The Mummy 4 gets its Book of the Dead title as Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reunite
Rick O'Connell would probably prefer that someone leave this particular book alone. Twenty-seven years after Stephen Sommers' The Mummy, Universal is returning to one of the most dangerous objects in its supernatural adventure series. The fourth film is titled The Mummy: Book of the Dead and is scheduled for US theaters on October 15, 2027. Brendan Fraser is reuniting with Rachel Weisz, who did not appear in the third installment, under directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The title promises a connection to the franchise's origins. Whether the filmmakers can revive more than its familiar memories remains to be seen.
